Departure

Here we go, I am writing this blog post from the plane, on my way to Madrid accompanied by Damien.Last night we went to bed aftet midnight... Who thought that moving out of my place and packing for Spain at the same time would be quite an adventure!!!

Luckily this morning we gain 1 hour more of sleep because I messed up with my alarm clock.... We were suppposed to leave a 7am and instead we woke up at 7am... No lie in... Jumped in our clothes, toilets, brushed our teeth and out of the door in 15min, it is a world record!

After that incident, we jump in the 1st bus and after one stop, they told us there is going to be a change of driver... The clock is ticking... We managed to arrive in London Bridge Station on time, but we still need to get the tickets. While Damien retrieves them, I am looking for our train, which I cannot find on the screens... I decided to take another one earlier, once in the train I can relax more! 

7.42 - In the train, we had another adventure, quite amusing, but not involving us for once.

8.15 - in the queue

9.00 - in the duty free area. My luggages are in total 5 kg too heavy but the guy let me go :)

9.30 - mandatory stop at Pret for our breakfast, we don't linger, on our way to the gate.

9.50 - finally sitting in the plane, enjoying our breakfast, ready to go. The sun even do an apparition just before taking off :)

The flight was quick, and when we arrived we could feel the heat! It felt good and realised that my big winter coat would be of no use here.

By the time we got the luggages, swap few items, went to leave luggages at the airport, found the oficina de turista (which was a waste of time...), found the tube station, bought the tickets and there we went... It was already 3pm. We took the tube + train for the 1st time.

We arrived in the place where we are staying at 4pm (more than 1h late...). After that everything went retty quickly, I had 3 visit schedule for a flat, so we head off by foot, we crossed the Retiro park.

     

The 1st one was nice and a lote of light but no living room and seems a bit sad. 2nd one single bed, but the guy was really friendly and we stayed talking with him for 1h30. The last one, told me last minute that the place was already rented, but he has another one to show me, we join him in the other place, the guy is super weird (not living in the place, just renting them) pretty rude... I gave myself the night to think about it.

After the 3rd visit, because we were not to far from my future school, we decided to go and have a look at it! I even manage to take a picture of the sigh !

After a long walk and some churros, we headed towards the metro back to the city center. Then it was the chase for a typical spanish restaurant with tapas. Around 10pm, we found one! Yes we decided to become rel Spaniards and eat late! It was not cheap, but it is out 1st restaurant and also we are on holidays, so it is time to please ourselves !!!

It was delicious, but we were so full that we needed to take a walk before heading home and to bed. We wandered in the streets and switched off the light after 1am...
